Overview

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations to ensure exceptional cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction standards aligned with Marriott International brand guidelines. This role ensures efficient team management, cost control, and consistent delivery of high-quality guest room and public area standards.


Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Management

  • Supervise daily housekeeping operations including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
  • Ensure all rooms meet Marriott brand cleanliness and presentation standards
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain quality control
  • Coordinate with Front Office for room readiness and guest preferences

2. Team Leadership & Training

  • Recruit, train, and supervise housekeeping staff
  • Schedule shifts and allocate duties efficiently
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching
  • Foster a positive and motivated work environment

3. Guest Experience

  • Handle guest requests, complaints, and special requirements promptly
  • Ensure VIP room setups and special amenities are delivered accurately
  • Maintain high guest satisfaction scores and service standards

4. Inventory & Cost Control

  • Manage housekeeping inventory including linen, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities
  • Monitor expenses and implement cost-control measures
  • Coordinate with vendors and procurement teams

5. Hygiene & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Implement SOPs for cleanliness, infection control, and waste management
  • Conduct safety training and emergency preparedness drills

6. Coordination & Communication

  • Work closely with Maintenance for repairs and upkeep
  • Collaborate with Food & Beverage and Front Office departments
  • Report operational issues and performance metrics to management

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience in housekeeping operations in a hotel environment
  • Minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory/managerial role
  • Experience with international hotel brands preferred
