F&B Intern

Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Maldives is offering an F&B Intern opportunity in its food and beverage service operations. The role is based at the resort on Emboodhu Finolhu, South Malé Atoll, and is intended for a candidate interested in developing practical restaurant service skills in a luxury island hospitality setting.

The Role

Working alongside food and beverage colleagues, the intern will observe and assist with restaurant preparation, guest interaction and service coordination. The resort’s venues include 24 Degrees, Mediterraneo by Jeffrey Vella, Equator Bar and poolside dining, offering a setting in which to learn about different guest expectations and service styles.

Key Responsibilities

• Help prepare tables, service stations, menus and approved guest supplies before meal periods.
• Welcome guests courteously and support seating or table-service arrangements under supervision.
• Learn menu knowledge and the basics of explaining dishes, beverages and service options.
• Assist colleagues with appropriate order delivery, clearing and resetting of tables.
• Communicate dietary or special requests to designated service colleagues without making assumptions about ingredients.
• Maintain clean dining areas and follow food safety, hygiene and safe handling standards.
• Observe opening, closing, inventory and shift handover procedures as part of the learning experience.

Relevant Skills and Experience

• Interest in food and beverage hospitality and willingness to learn professional restaurant service.
• Polite, clear communication and a considerate approach to guest needs.
• Basic attention to presentation, hygiene, order accuracy and teamwork.
• Ability to remain organised and attentive during busy dining periods.
• Eligibility for the hotel’s internship programme, with placement details to be confirmed by the employer.

This is a supervised training opportunity. Placement duration, schedule, stipend or other compensation, and any academic eligibility requirements will be confirmed during the recruitment process.
