Chinese CDP (Chef de Partie)

Overview

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Chinese CDP to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Chinese and Pan-Asian cuisine, wok cooking techniques, kitchen operations, and food quality standards. The candidate will be responsible for managing a section of the kitchen while ensuring consistency, hygiene, and high-quality food preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Chinese and Asian dishes as per brand recipes and SOPs.
• Handle wok cooking, sauces, gravies, stir-fry preparations, and mise en place efficiently.
• Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning standards.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and kitchen hygiene standards.
• Manage kitchen inventory and minimize wastage.
• Train and guide junior kitchen staff and commis chefs.
• Maintain cleanliness and compliance with food safety standards.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service teams for smooth operations during peak hours.
• Ensure timely preparation and dispatch of orders in a fast-paced QSR environment.
• Assist the Head Chef/Sous Chef in menu development and new dish trials.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Chinese or Pan-Asian cuisine.
• Expertise in wok cooking and Asian sauces.
• Experience in QSR, casual dining, or premium restaurant kitchens preferred.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
• Good team management and communication skills.
• Passion for Asian cuisine and culinary innovation.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of dim sums, momos, baos, noodles, and Asian appetizers.
• Ability to maintain consistency in high-volume kitchen operations.
• Basic inventory and kitchen cost control understanding.
• Creative approach toward presentation and flavor enhancement.
