Commis 1 Chef (Chinese Cuisine)

Overview

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Chef and Senior Chefs in preparing authentic Chinese dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Handle mise en place, including chopping, marinating, and preparing ingredients.
• Support the kitchen team with cooking, plating, and garnishing dishes according to restaurant standards.
• Monitor and maintain food inventory levels, and assist with the storage and rotation of ingredients.
• Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to within the kitchen.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to maintain smooth kitchen operations, including timely service.
• Assist in training junior kitchen staff and Commis chefs when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including the preparation and storage areas.
• Contribute ideas for new dishes, menu development, and culinary innovation, aligning with the Momo Delights brand.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience in Chinese cuisine with at least 2 years as a Commis Chef.
• Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen and handle high-pressure situations.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A keen eye for detail in food preparation and presentation.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and practices.
